India is celebrateing its 71st Republic Day on 26 January. The festival is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm across the country. People celebrate Republic Day as on this day, the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950.
On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into force. The Republic Day parade, which is considered the main attraction of the day’s celebration, was held along Rajpath. It was a 90-minute event. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was the chief guest at the parade.
Before the parade began, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute at the National War Memorial and President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the national flag along with General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of the Army Staff, Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff, Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff.

Daredevil acts displayed by all-woman bikers contigent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) made its debut at the Republic Day parade and garnered huge applause from thousands of people seated on both sides of the Rajpath.
Earlier, President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the Tricolour, which was followed by the National Anthem and 21-gun salute at Rajpath. This year, Brazil President Jair Messias Bolsonaro was the Chief Guest for Republic Day.
