IIMB are committed to make deep social impact using technology-enabled education. Towards this end, IIMB offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) through edX, a not-for-profit online initiative of Harvard and MIT that offers online courses from the world's best universities. We are the first management school in India to offer MOOCs on the edX platform. We are also the coordinating institute for management education for SWAYAM, GoI's online education platform.


Indian Institute of Management Bangalore(IIMB) has obtained the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation, introduced by the European Foundation for Management Education (EFMD). In December 2016, IIM Bangalore was re-accredited by EQUIS for a further period of 5 years.

Admission Criteria

IIM B adopts a two-phase selection process and accordingly these selection criteria are applied in two phases. The first phase of the process is applied to all eligible candidates who appear for CAT 2018, to determine those qualifying candidates who will be called for personal Interview (PI). Candidate selected for the PI process will be required to take a written ability test (WAT) on a topic to be provided by IIMB. The topic chosen will typically reflect current socio-political economics and business affairs, though other topics such as sports and those that required more creative thinking may also be include. The time provided by the WAT will typically be about 30 minutes. During the interview, the panel will evaluate each candidates academic background, quality of work experience and other personal traits. That WAT submission will be evaluated separately. The score of the WAT, Interview and pre-PI score (with appropriate weightage will be used cumulatively in the second and final phase to select the candidates for the programme. The selection process, parameters and weights used are uniform for all categories of applicants. Sufficient candidates are shortlisted at each stage in each category to meet the reservation requirement for each group, as applicable at the time.
