AICTE-CMAT 2018 Exam date announced: Online test on January 21


AICTE has released the schedule for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2018. The exam will be conducted on January 21, 2018. CMAT exam is conducted for admission to management programs offered at AICTE-Approved Institutions/ University Departments/ Constituent Colleges/ Affiliated Colleges. The CMAT exam will be a three hours duration online exam which will be conducted in a single session. The registration for the exam is slated to begin in October.


In a surprising turn of events, AICTE removed the updated details about CMAT 2018 from the official website and has reverted back to the old information about CMAT 2017. A similar action was witnessed on the GPAT website as well. GPAT is Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test which is also conducted by AICTE. It is expected that AICTE will update the information about CMAT 2018 again soon.

 

CMAT 2018 exam will be held on January 21, 2018 in a single session of 3 hours duration. AICTE has released the CMAT 2018 notification on October 11, 2017 and has announced the CMAT 2018 registration dates as well as the exam date.

 

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for CMAT 2018 is:

  • The aspirant should be a graduate in any discipline
  • Final year students of graduate courses (10+2+3) are also eligible for CMAT, provided the results are declared before commencement of admission for 2018
  • There’s no age limit for CMAT 
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India

 

Test Fee:

Test fees for General and OBC candidates is Rs 1400 + Bank charges, while for SC/ST/PD candidates it is Rs 700 + Bank charges.

 

“Test Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances,” informed an official notification.

 

Mode of Payment:

Candidates can apply online via Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card through www.aicte-cmat.in. One can also opt for Cash Payment through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI). 

 

Admit Cards:

CMAT 2018 admit cards will be available for download on the official website, as per the schedule. Registered candidates can download their admit cards till the day before exam.

 

Exam Pattern:

CMAT exam is held for 180 minutes. The test comprises of hundred questions divided in four sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. There’s negative marking of one (1) mark for each wrong answer.

To understand CMAT exam pattern, candidates can avail sample tests from the CMAT website. The sample test are uploaded few days after the official notification is out. Aspirants can get a feel of the online test and navigation functionality.

 

To apply for CMAT 2018, candidates need to log in to official website of CMAT.

For the 2018 exam registrations will begin in October. Interested candidates are advised to keep a check on CMAT notifications.

While filling up application form, aspirants need to select dates and three cities (test venues) for online examination in the order of preference. Thereafter, candidates will be allotted dates and test centres on “first come first served” basis. Actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.
